2021 Chevrolet Equinox
This five seat crossover SUV from Chevrolet is stationed at the junction between practicality and value. It doesn’t really top any category but does very well as a functional vehicle for a family of five. Despite the base trim being inexpensive, it is still well equipped. The Equinox majorly competes with the Toyota RAV4, the Mazda CX5, and the Honda CRV. Read more about this SUV here.
Trim Levels Available:
Buyers invariably have different budgets, based on which there are four different trims for the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. These are as follows:
- LS
- L
- LT
- Premier
All trims apart from the base L are available with AWD (All Wheel Drive).
Exterior Appearance:
The Equinox’s front fascia has been completely redesigned for 2021. Projector beam LED headlights and daytime running lamps are available. Chrome on the lower fascia looks good. Horizontal slats on the grille slop towards the bottom, with the Chevrolet bowtie in the center. Body lines flow from the bonnet to the A Pillar.
19-inch machine aluminum wheels are available to give this vehicle a modern look. An Equinox badge is visible in the center of the front door. Roof rails have been made available as well. An extra quarter window can be seen at the rear. Functional exhausts have been redesigned for the 2021 trim.
Engine and Performance:
The 2021 Equinox comes with two different engine options- a 1.5 liter and a 2.0 liter. The 1.5 liter engine is the base engine which generates 170 hp of power, and the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine produces 250 hp of power. Customers are bound to enjoy the second engine a lot more. The LT and Premier get the second engine that is paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the other trims are fitted with the first engine that is mated to a 6-speed auto transmission.
Interior Appearance:
The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox has adequate cargo space and room for five to charge its larger sibling, the Chevrolet Trailblazer. There is no sliding function for the second row of seats anymore. Cargo space in this two row SUV is available at 29.9 cubic feet, which can be increased to 63.9 cubic feet by folding the second row. Overall, the interiors may not be as visually appealing as some competitors, but they are definitely practical.
Interior features in the LT include:
- Satellite Radio
- Keyless Start
- Power Lift Gate
- Vertical AC Vents
- Hard materials for doors
- Heated and Cooled Seats
- Plenty of cup holders
- 7.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard, but an 8.0 inch touchscreen is optional.
Rear seat legroom is tremendous in this vehicle, allowing tall adults to sit comfortably. Headroom will also be adequate, and a panoramic sunroof is available as an option. Front seats are comfortable for long drives.
Safety Features:
One of the interesting safety features is the availability of teen driver technology on LS trims and above. It can guide teens to imbibe safe driving habits. The Equinox gets the Chevy Assist program, which includes:
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- IntelliBeam and following distance indicator.
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Forward Collision Alert
- Automatic High Beam Headlights
- Active Lane Control
