Chevy Colorado Compared to The Chevy Silverado 1500

Every individual who has ever loved a pickup truck would have considered the Chevy Colorado and Silverado at some point in time. The Silverado 1500 is a full size pickup truck while the Colorado is a mid-size vehicle. Those who want to navigate through relatively tighter spaces should consider the Silverado 1500 instead of the Colorado.

Exterior Appearance:

The 2021 Chevy Colorado gets a new design at the front, which makes it look aggressive at the front. However, only halogen lights are available on the LT and no options for LED lights have been made available by GM. A multifunction tailgate is available as a new feature on the Colorado this year, which is very useful for hauling extremely long objects. The vehicle has an aggressive, good looking stance that will appeal to several buyers. A step has been provided at the rear for easier access into the truck bed.

The bonnet lines are very clearly visible on the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500, giving it a distinct look. Full LED lights are available on the LT trim and above. 20 inch wheels are available at the front and back, which are suitable for light off-roading. A powered tailgate is available here as well. LED bed lights are available in the truck bed.

Engines Available:

Under the hood, the Chevy Colorado gets a 3.5 liter V6 engine that thumps out 308 hp of power and 275 lbs.-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It has a massive towing capacity of 7000 pounds. In comparison, the 2021 Chevy Silverado gets a 5.3 liter V8 engine that is mates to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It generates 355 hp of power and 383 lbs.-ft of torque. Towing capacity in the Silverado 1500 stands at 9400 pounds.

Interior Appearance:

The 2021 Chevy Colorado’s interior appearance is virtually unchanged from its previous model. An auto dimming mirrors has been added to the LT and above trims. All windows here are one-touch down, which is usually only on the driver’s side. The infotainment system in this vehicle is very responsive and comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets built-in Wi-Fi LTE. A lot of storage space is available, making it appear well appointed on the inside. Buyers of the LT and above trims get leather wrapped steering wheels. Seats at the front are power adjustable. The 3rd row gets adequate seating space for adults.

Seating capacity in the Silverado 1500 is more than the Colorado. A wooden trim is available on the rear seat doors of the Silverado, with storage space being available beneath the rear seats. A 12V outlet, rear AC vents, and 2 USB slots are available for the second row. The instrument cluster of this vehicle is very extensive. Heated steering wheel is part of standard equipment. Different drive models are also available. This vehicle also gets an infotainment system with excellent response time. 

Safety:

Both vehicles are available with the Teen Driver system and a rearview camera as part of standard equipment. Other than that, the following driver assistance technologies are available:
